Relaxation Is Important In Treating Acne As Stress Worsens Acne:
Filed Under Natural Acne Treatment | Leave a Comment
Researchers from many parts of the world have found out that stress does indeed worsen acne. It is a known fact that more than 80% of the teens, and more than 25% of adults tend to suffer from acne.
A study was conducted to prove the claim that stress is indeed one of the causes of acne, which was till now a fact that was left unsubstantiated. Altogether 22 university students participated in this study.
Each of these 22 participants had to answer a minimum of one academic examination in the span of the study. The reason exam sessions were used for the study is because an exam session is a common source of stress for most students.
The Perceived Stress Scale helped record stress levels by measuring perceptions of life stress. This included how often they found these participants finding things in their life turning out to be uncontrollable, overwhelming and unpredictable.
On the completion of this study, it was found that the participants who had undergone maximum stress during examinations were those who had the greatest exacerbation in the severity of acne attacks.
Another factor that seemed to contribute to an increase in acne severity was the worsening of the diet. With this relationship of stress increasing the occurrence of acne in a person, it was thus inferred that some other behavioral interventions could be used for treating patients, besides using medications.
With psychological stress known for slowing wound healing by up to 40%, it gives added proof that there is some connection between stress and the worsening of acne. However as all these participants only suffered from mild acne attacks, further studies have to be conducted to confirm the role of stress playing causing acne in most cases.
Acne control tips of the century

Acne is an annoying disease which can strike at any time and any age. So it’s not unusual to see many people try to find any type of acne control tips to get rid of their problem.
Here are a few unusual acne control tips I’ve come across on the internet.
No guarantees on effect, so try them out at your own risk!
• Washing your face with your own urine or baby urine. OK, this ranks high on my yuck factor. My or any ones else’s urine is strictly for the potty and not to be used on the face. The very idea of using emissions of one end on the skin of another end of my body gives me the shivers!
• A pearl powder and egg white mask. Powder the pearl and mix with the egg white to form an iridescent mask to control acne. I might be a country bumpkin doctor but I still value pearls and I’d prefer to wear them as a pendant, rather then powder a perfectly good pearl to put on my face. The pearl pendant is much more guaranteed to get admiring glances.
• The 3-minute face-wash procedure. I don’t have time to eat and take care of an active two-year-old toddler. So how on earth am I going to get him to sit still so that I can rinse my face for three minutes? The whole world could be destroyed by the sitting dynamo which is my son.

About 20% of newborn babies suffer from newborn acne, or acne neonatorum. This is a skin disease that affects newborn babies and infant on their cheeks, chin, face and forehead. Some babies are also affected by whiteheads.
Babies get acne neonatorum by its mother passing hormones to newborn babies. Oil glands are then developed in the skin of the baby or infant by these hormones. It is usually male babies that suffer more from acne neonatorum than female babies.
This acne may occur on the baby’s skin in a month from the baby’s birth. This acne is usually found as papules and pustules and can be resolved in the infant without treatment as this acne is usually formed by fussy, hot or irritation of the skin.
So when the baby contacts dirty clothes or when its clothes become wet with saliva and milk, they may suffer from acne neonatorum. In such conditions, the baby’s face has to be washed with mild soap and Luke warm water regularly.
It is not advised to use lotions and oils on the affected area of the baby’s skin as this only increases acne and makes it worse. Scrubbing the baby’s face may irritate the skin; so don’t scrub the baby’s face.
Acne neonatorum usually disappears in 2-4 weeks’ time and is not a serious skin problem for babies and infants. This baby acne continues till between the age of 4-6 months; however if this acne continues till after the 6th month, the pediatrician has to be visited immediately.
If the baby suffers from severe cases of newborn acne, it is possible to use topical creams like retinoid or keratolytic agents or benzoyl peroxide to treat it. Parents should wash their baby’s clothes in detergents that does not have any chemical or harsh ingredient.
There are some natural products, soothing lotions and Aveeno baby washes that are meant specifically for newborn babies and infants for the treatment of its acne. Even vinegar can be used to treat any form of newborn acne.

Most people who suffer from acne run from pillar to post seeking any and every medicine possible to get rid of those dirty red spots. My mother swore by her home remedy; mint paste combined with a little yogurt and it did seem to work for me.
As I grew up I decided to investigate a few other home remedies and their effectiveness against acne. Here’s what I found,
- Fresh turmeric root ground with a little yogurt was wonderful. Caused a whole lot of horrible stains but gave my face such a wonderful sunny glow. A word to the wise: don’t use the powdered turmeric, you could end up looking like last nights chicken curry.
- Buttermilk and oats used as a scrub was so great. The oats smelled really great even though it tastes really bland. The buttermilk soothed my dry skin and the tiny oat particles acted like a scrub. Really fresh looking skin for about two days.
- Don’t use soap. Use a mixture of chickpea flour for daily scrubbing of your face. Again this was really yucky but the end effect was worth it, smooth glowy skin. Check for allergies before using chickpea flour as soap.
- Water! Water! Water! Drinking a lot of water can flush out your system and clear the toxins, which have accumulated in you body. Eight glasses or two liters is the minimum for a glowing complexion.
- Cucumber juice-puree a few cucumbers and squeeze out the juice, you can make few ice cubes of this liquid and freeze it in the fridge. Whenever you have time rub the ice cubes all over you face for a fresh feeling.
Home remedies have been passed down since centuries for many diseases. And most of them are available in your kitchen .So make sure to investigate your own kitchen for home remedies, ask your mom and grand mom, and watch this space for my experiments on dandruff home remedies.

Pantothenic Acid Supplements Are Best Taken In Powder Form

Pantothenic acid supplements prove to be quite effective in controlling and treating people suffering from chronic acne problems.
All you have to do is to take Pantothenic supplements, in four doses per day for about 2 months till you find some improvements in your acne problem.
Once you reach a point where your acne is controlled, you can reduce your Pantothenic acid supplementation till you find the right ‘maintenance’ dose for you to maintain your acne problem.
However as Pantothenic acid has to be taken in large amounts, you can’t expect to find it in the foods you eat. You will not be able to get the right amounts of Pantothenic acid with a multivitamin or B vitamin complex either.
Pantothenic acid pills are not feasible as you with pills; you will have to take above 20 pills a day. So the only reasonable way of getting your Pantothenic acid supplement is Pantothenic acid powder, which is effective in treating acne.
It is not possible to find Pantothenic acid pills in most stores. However though this is difficult to find, it is even more difficult to find the powder form of Pantothenic acid. There is a possibility of finding it in some health stores; but this is only in some areas.
So the best thing to do would be to get the person at your local store to order the supplement for you. However this may prove to be a rather expensive option.
So the best, cheapest and easiest means of getting your Pantothenic acid powder would be by ordering it online. There are many sties you can visit, like Amazon.com that sells Pantothenic acid powder at incredible prices.
The Benefits of Supplementing With Pantothenic Acid

To many sufferers of acne, Pantothenic acid supplements prove to be quite effective in treating acne. It is natural and water soluble, and safer to take than Accutane as it eliminates acne problem instead of just shrinking glands and trapping fats in the body.
You have to take about 12 grams of Pantothenic acid per day; which is not possible in one’s diet. So you have to start with about 4 grams per day, with supplements, while dividing the dosage into 4 times a day.
Keep as much gap between the doses as possible. There may be a side effect with Pantothenic acid supplementation, stomach irritation that can be prevented by taking the supplement with food or at least a glass of water.
If you find that 4gms of Pantothenic acid is ineffective to you, slowly increase the dosage till you find results. The maximum you can take is 12 grams. Once you reach a dosage that works for you, take it for about 2 months while dividing the dosages into 4 doses a day.
After two months, there should be some results wherein you can reduce on your supplementation till you find out how much you will have to take as a ‘maintenance dose’ of Pantothenic acid.
However while taking Pantothenic acid supplements, you may find it depleting your body of other B vitamins. This is why you have to take a B-50 complex along with your Pantothenic acid supplement. Some people may also need to take a zinc supplement too.
So instead of trying out all those other acne products on the market, try taking Pantothenic acid supplements and see a difference in your acne problem, within two months.
Using Pantothenic Acid As A Cure For Acne:

Those suffering from chronic acne are always on the lookout for a natural means of reducing acne. And learning that vitamin B5 is a great cure for acne, sounds like a miracle to them.
Pantothenic acid is also known as vitamin B5. it is supplemented in large amounts to reduce the production of oil in the body, and thus rid your skin of acne. Pantothenic acid metabolizes the fats in the body that turns into sebum.
So when compared to Accutane, which also reduces the production of oil in the body by shrinking oil glands so that oil to the face is blocked, Pantothenic acid addresses the cause of the problem and proves to be a better solution for acne.
Now this is how Pantothenic acid actually works. You find that during your natural metabolism process, your body breaks into fats. Once your body lacks coenzyme A the remaining fats of your body cannot be broken down.
So to get rid of this oil, the body ejects the oil through the oil glands as sebum (oil). It can thus be said that creating more of coenzyme-A will help in reducing the production of oil in your body.
Coenzyme-A is an enzyme that is made of Cysteine, ATP and Pantothenic Acid. Though your body produces Cysteine and ATP by itself, you have to consume more of vitamin B5 through food for Pantothenic Acid.
So with this supplementation of Pantothenic acid, you find an increase in the production of coenzyme-A in the body. in addition to this, fats are broken down better so that there is less oil in your skin.
With the reduction of oil on the face, there is not much of clogging of pores. This leaves nothing much for the P.acnes bacteria to feed on and thus cannot thrive to cause acne.
Something About Hormonal Acne Natural Treatment:

Today most of the treatments available for acne aim at controlling acne from the outside, without addressing the issue internally. It is only if the acne problem is addressed internally that you find lasting and dramatic results from the treatment.
The best thing that has to be done, and can be done to treat acne, and eliminating it at its source is by trying a natural acne hormone treatment. This form of treatment aims at equalizing any hormonal imbalance you have in your body.
It also purifies the skin from the inside out using special blends of herbs, natural compounds like Vitamin E and Alpha Lipoic Acid and botanicals.
Those who find conventional acne treatments ineffective in treating acne find that natural acne treatments are much better at producing positive results.
Basically, two different hormones in women are responsible for causing acne; an abundance of androgens (male hormones) and estrogens (female hormones). In the case of men, an imbalance of male and female hormones too causes acne.
With this imbalance, you find acne breakouts with the over-stimulation of oil glands on acne prone areas. This then results in clogging of the pore and thus, pimples.
The best hormonal equalizers are antioxidants as they create an environment for mending skin eruptions with their properties. These blood purifiers also prevent new breakouts to promote healthy, glowing skin.
With a natural hormone treatment, you find it is possible to control any hormonal imbalances that cause acne breakouts. In the process, these products help in reducing inflammation and swelling to make way for improved and faster skin repair in areas where there have been recent breakouts.
This in turn helps prevent and control any scarring there may be on your skin. This is why natural hormonal treatments prove beneficial in treating acne.
