Is Point Karate Useful
This article will answer the question, Is point karate useful? The short answeris: No - at least not how it is currently practiced today.
The concept of point karate fighting is quite interesting. It enables a deadly fighting art to engage with other practitioners in a way which measures talent without causing the necessary damage. The problem is that current karate point fighting techniques have evolved to little more then playing tag. This is a game of only speed with a disregard to the power or effectiveness of technique.
How can the karate point system be saved? By using it exactly how it was intended to be used. Points should only be awarded for strikes which would otherwise disable the opponent. This is the purpose of a “point” which would signify a winner in an interaction and allow for a reset of the fight to determine who wins the entire karate match. In other words, a powerful punch must be stopped just before the opponents face, or a body strike must have sufficient power to cause the opponent to be momentarily stunned and defenseless.?
Only if we resurrect the legitimacy of the karate point fighting system will karate once again produce effective authentic fighters.

Point fighting encourages single strike fighting, but rarely will a single strike end a fight. Also, the way point fighters train, their punches and kicks become weak.
Chances are, in a real fight situation, a point fighter will get one chance, but his weak strikes will fail, and he’ll get his clock cleaned.
I i want to know is, if I kick you in the balls will it clear up your ance?
