Makeup May Cause Pimples:
Women and girls suffering from acne both benefit and suffer with make up. This is because though make up can be used to camouflage acne scars, they can also create more blemishes. With these tips, you ensure you can wear makeup, without harming your acne.
- Make it a point to thoroughly clean your face before sleeping, to remove all traces of makeup from your face and neck. You could also use a gentle cleanser and toner, but never sleep in your makeup.
- It is better to use noncomedogenic labeled makeup as they don’t have ingredients hat tend to clog pores. On reducing pore blockages, you start your quest for treating acne.
- You can reduce the amount of acne causing bacteria only by cleaning applicators frequently. So wash all makeup brushes and applicators with antimicrobial soap a few times every week, and spray them with isopropyl alcohol after each application. If possible, use disposable applicators wherever possible.
- Try changing brands if you find your acne flaring up with a certain makeup brand. This is because sometimes even noncomedogenic makeup brands may cause breakouts in sensitive people.
- It is better to use powder based makeup instead of liquid based ones. This is because liquid based makeup is better for oil base and not advisable for one with acne prone skin. Moreover, powder makeup help absorb excess oil.
- Try to go out without any makeup at least a few times a week. This gives your skin time to breathe and heal; and when wearing makeup, remember that less is always best.
