With so many acne treatments available for sale these days, it is easy for consumers to get confused about which products are most effective for them. Some people prefer alternative treatment such as herbs, Chinese creams, and even acupuncture. But for a more mainstream user; there are some acne products that simply stand out from the rest. Among these include:
The ProActiv Solution – it is easily available with no prescription. A lot of people have claimed that this is highly effective in fighting and stopping acne. This package includes cleanser, toner, and the lotion. However, it is important to take note that ProActiv is especially suited for those with oily skin. People with normal or dry skin should seek alternative treatment that is not as harsh.
Retin-A – this can be used for a variety of purposes including acne treatment, scar removal, stretch mark removal, and other skin discolorations. Products with a high percentage of Retin-A are only available with a prescription.
Accutane – a strong acne medication that requires doctor’s prescription. It is best used for people who suffer from severe forms of acne. There are some side effects associated with this treatment including liver problems, dry lips, and possible birth defects for pregnant women.

You said that people with sensitive or dry skin should seek out a product that isn’t as harsh as ProActive. So in addition to the acne treatments you’ve mentioned, I’ve read that the newest Salicylic treatment is great - the SensiClear product range uses something called Retextra that smooths out skin and promotes skin cell renewal. It’s mild for dry, sensitive skins and combats acne as well.
This is part of an article I’ve seen around that explains it a bit better -
“….Yet the very thing that women try to correct the problem with can actually make mild acne much worse. Acne is commonly a result of clogged pores, so the perceived ‘solution’ of using makeup to hide the problem is, in fact, a temporary fix that can do more harm than good. Of course it’s fair to say that if you have acne, you want to disguise it with makeup. And you can – but you will need a thorough and effective beauty regime that looks after your skin, giving it time to breathe and recuperate.
This is why the new SensiClear 3 Step Solution is so successful in combating acne.
Skin is not only exposed to everyday stresses such as sunlight, pollution and harsh cosmetic products, but having to deal with an abrasive acne treatment can send sensitive, irritated skin over the edge. Ingredients such as Proactiv’s benzoyl peroxide-based solutions often leave the skin dry, flaky and inflamed. But SensiClear is a mild but effective alternative that not only cleanses, tones and banishes acne, but also helps to nurture skin back to health.
You can use the SensiClear range as part of your beauty regime and know that you’re actually restoring a smooth texture and radiance back into your skin, rather than stripping and irritating it. The purifying cleanser penetrates deep into the skin’s pores, flushing out the build up of grease and cosmetic grime that contribute to flare-ups. The balancing toner removes any residue and restores a healthy equilibrium to the skin. The third step is the Blemish Free Acne Treatment Lotion, which is critical in the fight against acne and goes beyond other acne treatments to help maintain an even complexion.
SensiClear’s Acne Treatment Lotion utilizes a unique combination of Salicylic acid and the patented ingredient Retextra. Whilst the plant-based salicylic acid combats problematic acne by gently inducing cells to slide off the skin and minimize pore clogging, the Retextra is key in helping promote cell renewal, which results in a smoother, more radiant complexion. So in essence, SensiClear’s 3 Step solution not only cleanses and tones and fights acne, but also gives your skin the extra boost it needs to achieve the coveted dewy and youthful healthy glow that so many women desire.
If it’s a speedy result you’re after, then again SensiClear delivers. In the first three critical days of acne treatment, SensiClear has been proven to be 50% more effective than other leading brands, and 100% more effective at treating blackheads. And after just 28 days, clinical trials have revealed that SensiClear is the out and out winner in combating blackheads, whiteheads and acne lesions compared with other products.
So it’s no wonder then that SensiClear has become the official acne treatment brand of the Janice Dickinson Model Agency. But a blemish-free, even skin tone needn’t be exclusive to models and A-listers alike – radiant, smooth skin is now something that almost any of us mere mortals can achieve thanks to SensiClear. So what are you waiting for - visit www.sensiclear.com to get hold of your free SensiClear system trial kit, and take part in the 28-day challenge! “
Hi loved your post, it provided loads of great information.
I am 31 and have had acne since I was 14. I was just wondering if you have heard of SensiClear. It’s a new product that is being endorsed by the Janice Dickenson Modelling agency. I have been using it for almost 2 weeks now and so far I have to say I am impressed. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin and my acne is almost gone. They have a 30 day free trial on at the moment so this might be something worth trying. The website is www.sensiclear.com It might be something that many of your readers would like to try.

I have just recent purchased sensi-clear for my teenage children who previously were using proactive with mixe results. but one thing was for sure it dried their skin way to much and left them really flacky.
So they have been using sensi-clear for about a week and half and the results are awful. Their complexions got worse. They both seem to have like a mild rash or something but both of them now have tons of little small inflamed acne bumps, It seems as though they maybe allergic to one of the ingredients. It definitely didn’t calm the skin an help get rid of inflamation, it appears to have created infamation. However it does seem to have reduced recurrence of any large pimples but replaced that with what almost looks like heat rash at times. Anyone had any similar reactions???
