Acne is a skin condition that seems to have many triggers that vary between person to person. While some people tend to suffer from an acne attack on eating chocolates, others seem to suffer from one because of oily food causing oily skin. With oily skin, one is rendered to be more susceptible to acne.
In addition to foods, it has been found that stress has an important part in causing acne. Then there is genetics that have a role in acne formation. Different people suffer from different triggers of acne. This is why some teenagers suffer from a severe attack of acne while others don’t have a single pimple or mark on their face.
This is despite the fact that both are producing hormones at the same time, and both are at the age where teenagers usually suffer from acne.
There are some teenagers who are lucky enough to not suffer from any acne bouts while some of them who suffer from acne not only in adolescence, but keep getting it as they grow older in life. So whether or not acne and chocolate has any relation to acne can be defined by the individual themselves.
Those who have chocolate as a trigger to acne will always suffer from acne when eating too much of chocolate. And those who don’t suffer from acne because of chocolate are lucky enough to eat chocolate and not worry about any acne!
Science has so far not reached any conclusion on particular foods starting acne. But this does not mean that specific food like chocolate will not start your acne problem.
It is usually your grandma’s recipes that cure unanswered questions, than science. So it is up to you to find out what triggers acne in you, and henceforth, avoid that food.
