Sunlight and effects on acne:
Though you may have heard and thought that sunlight can help cure your acne problem, this is not always true. This is because the sun is at times hard on your skin. This is why you have to have sunglasses, hat and sun blocks as protection from overexposure when in the sun.
It is important that you choose a sunscreen that is best for your skin, and does not clog pores at all after continuous usage. Make it a point to wash your face once or twice everyday.
However wash gently using cold water and a mild cleanser as excessive scrubbing only damages your skin and leads to more acne. If you have a habit of using a skin ointment, continue after ensuring that it does not clog pores.
Instead, the skin ointment should help in draining and killing of excess bacteria. Look for ointments that will not help in development of resistance in the bacteria. Remember that bacteria, dead skin cells and oils lead to the production of pimples.
So aim at keeping all skin pores unclogged and maintaining bacteria control to cause fewer pimples that don’t last long.
Acne can affect the self esteem of many people; so don’t feel shy or embarrassed to go to school or meet others with a pimple on your face. Remember that everyone has gone through this phase; so relax and do your best at preventing acne as much as possible.
However if your acne problem persists or gets worse, consult a dermatologist for advice on the next treatment to be taken for elimination of acne. They may prescribe prescription treatments or perhaps other alternative treatments like ointments with tea tree oil, acupuncture and light therapy to heal your acne problem as soon as possible.
