Acne is something that takes time to treat. It does not disappear overnight, and it is not sufficient to use just some treatment to treat acne. The soap you use when you are suffering from acne plays an important part in treating acne.
People think that soaps that peel the skin is great for use when suffering from acne, thinking that acne is treated faster with dry skin. There are some who prefer soaps that make the skin soft and some who want some perfume to feel good after washing.
The right soap for acne is to be chosen by keeping the intention of the soap in mind. It has to be effective in removing dirt, grime and impurities from the skin while perfume is not important.
The soap that emulsifies dirt and impurities on the skin and makes you feel clean after washing is right for your skin when suffering from acne. It is not basically good to use a soap that removes oil from the skin, and makes it dry.
This is because though oil is a cause of acne, it is not the only cause. So if your gland opening is clear from oil, sebum flows away to prevent formation of acne. This is sufficient; not a soap that makes your skin dry.
There is no point in specifically using a moisturizing soap for treating acne as it has no role in it. It just maintains moisture on skin, while keeping your skin hydrated. Basically, it is better to use a neutral soaps having pH of 7.
Avoid using acidic soaps as they only cause irritation. When choosing your soap, choose it according to the function of the soap first; its perfume is secondary. Dry your skin after washing it gently twice a day; after which you have to apply your topical medicine to help it reach your skin depths.
