The Stance
The Taekwondo stance is one of the weakest in martial arts. The theory behind the long sideways stance is based on the rules of the sport. In sport competitions, striking to the legs and back are prohibited and points are preferentially given to kicks. The purpose of the long stance is to provide a stable and maneuverable platform from which to kick.
Like an ostrich hiding its head in the sand, Taekwondo ignores the reality of martial combat in light of its own rules. The Taekwondo stance is ineffective and even dangerous to those who employ it. The sideways body posture exposes the back and the kidneys while the legs are so spread apart that they are defenseless against Thai kickboxing style leg kicks. (All demonstrated in the above video)
The Spin and the Jump
The Taekwondo style spin and jump are very dangerous. These two moves expose oneself to a quick and effective counter attack their back is turned or when they are in the air as they are completely defenseless. The best counterattack to these techniques is to rush your opponent as just a slight push while in such a vulnerable position will send them toppling.
High Kicks
The consistent high kicks practiced in Taekwondo exposes both the groin to striking and the legs to being grabbed or caught. High kicks can be useful, but only in unsuspecting surprise attacks.
Overall Taekwondo Counter Attack Strategy
The strategy from the Taekwondo perspective is to remain at a distance from their opponent in order to launch dynamic kicks. The counter attack strategy is to close this distance. Once within the kicking radius, the entire Taekwondo style is basically defenseless as rarely do they practice effective sparring hand techniques.

Video reminds me of my defenselessness when you attack me in my dining room…
Site looks great..
“…like an ostrich hiding its head in the sand…” I like it.
Em
what about this?
It’s not the bike, it’s the rider.
I know I have seen that, the interesting thing is that the muay thai fighter never throws a single strike leading me to believe there is something fishy here. Even watch the taekwondo fighters hands, they’re around his waist just waiting to get knocked out. There is also another video of a taekwondo style fighter who is throwing many techniques, but I think if you look at all of the videos you will see that these are the exceptional clips, not the rule.
There is nothing inherently wrong with TKD. It really is about the skill of the fighters. the TKD-artist was just outclassed.
uummm the TKD fighter was out classed? dude, all the thai fighter did was use the basics and he owned the poor bastard
