Tips On Treating Acne Cosmetica:
Acne cosmetica is a form of acne that is usually triggered by cosmetics. With the right treatment and products, it is however possible to treat acne cosmetica. The first and most important thing you have to do is to identify the pore-clogging culprit.
If you find that you are getting acne attacks on the forehead, scalp or hairline it may indicate that the hair care products you use are to blame. Then if you find that you are getting small bumps and whiteheads in the eyes or your upper cheeks, it may indicate that you are using heavy eye cream.
Moisturizers or foundation makeup are to blame for acne breakouts and bumpiness on the entire face and neck area. Once you manage to identify the source of your acne cosmetica attack, you can discontinue its use and find your acne improving.
It is not possible, practical or advisable to stop using any form of hair or skin care product. What you should do is to choose products labeled non-comedogenic so that the number of pore blockages on your skin is reduced.
It is better to use an oil free moisturizer and apply hair pomades and oils that are at least an inch from the hair line and, to the ends of the hair. Make sure that all traces of your makeup are thoroughly cleansed at the end of the day.
You can use cleanser or treatment pads with salicylic acid to clear existing breakouts quickly and to control the formation of new comedones. With regular exfoliation, it is possible to quicken the clearing of acne cosmetica.
Like all other forms of acne, it is better to consult your doctor if you don’t find any improvement in your acne condition after six to eight weeks of treatment.
